I went to Boston with my family to attend my brothers graduation in Cambridge back in 2000. We all had a great time. The biggest surprise to me was that Boston did not seem like some massive metropolitan city, like New York or Los Angeles. Boston had the feeling of being a large town, with lots of culture, similar to San Francisco. It really felt much more of a community of people, something that cannot always be expected for big cities.

Cigar Masters is a classic cigar café that you would have found prevalent in the mid-1990s at the height of the cigar boom, which is around the time the establishment opened on Newbury Street, Boston’s major shopping district. This Back Bay oasis, which for the past two years has been at its new location on Boylston Street, is full of plush leather couches and a comfortable bar between the front and back rooms. Brooke Leahy, the general manager, says the bar usually gets busy around 9 p.m., after diners from any of a number of steak houses or fine restaurants wander in.
Have a seat in one of the deep comfortable chairs and take your pick from the best cigars in town. Enjoy hand-rolled specialties from the Dominican, Italy, Costa Rica, Panama and much more. Dazzling collection of hand-crafted humidors, cutters and lighters. Wine, desserts and delivery to your hotel is also available. Rated country’s top 10 cigar shops by Cigar Aficionado.

Cigar Masters has a fairly large humidor and a very wide selection of beers, wines and Ports. No hard liquor here. The biggest-selling cigar brand is Ashton, but you can opt for a Padrón Anniversario Torpedo for $22.50 or a $4 Macanudo Caviar Café. Take note: if you want to smoke a cigar you brought with you, there’s a $10 “lighting fee.” That’s how Cigar Masters, open from 10 a.m. to midnight, helps keep the revenue split on the right side of the smoking laws.

Best place for a delightful stroll down this 8-block strip of boutiques, restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs. On warm weekends people fill the sidewalks with window shoppers and overflowing outdoor cafes. Much of the brownstone architecture you see is inspired by the Art Nouveau architectural movement during the 1920’s. Really enjoyable strip to walk, talk, shop and dine.

How do we figure?
The total price (per person) of your trip is an approximate value. Our members enter prices in ranges (ie. 10 - 20 USD per entree at a restaurant). Then, depending on the travel style you have selected for yourself, we estimate how much we think you would spend (ie. If your travel style is "inexpensive," you would probably end up spending $10 at the mentioned restaurant). It's all hokey science, but if you are like us and travel on a budget, knowing approximately how much you will spend on a trip is of utmost importance.
